THE BICOL University paid tribute to its former vice president, scientist, and dean who died on November 2, 2020.

The university aired its condolences to the family of Dr. Victor Salcedo Soliman, a pioneer researcher in fisheries and aquatic resources, dean of the graduate school from 2015 to 2017, and vice president for research development and extension from 2017 to 2018.

“The Bicol University family deeply mourns the passing of scientist and pioneering researcher in fisheries and aquatic resources, Dr. Victor Salcedo Soliman,” the school said on Facebook.

The BU said that Soliman contributed extensively in his field of expertise and was a good mentor to numerous researchers and students.

“His presence will be greatly missed. Bicol University is forever grateful to his dedicated service and contribution to research and for significantly expanding the frontiers of knowledge,” it added.

Netizens also sent their condolences to the family of the bereaved, noting the doctor’s greatness in his respective field.
