AURORA STATE COLLEGE WEBINAR FOCUSES ON TEENAGE PREGNANCY PREVENTION

/ 28 October 2020

THE AURORA State College of Technology will hold a webinar on the effects of teenage pregnancy.

Spearheaded by its Guidance and Counseling Office, the webinar dubbed as “Handa na ba ako?: A Webinar on Teenage Pregnancy Prevention” will also be streamed on Facebook on October 30, 2020, at 10 a.m.

The school said it wants to show the negative effects of teenage pregnancy by quoting Turquoise Brown on her “Teenage pregnancy affects the future of both the child and the mother” remark.

Based on the tally of the Philippine Statistics Authority, one in 10 young Filipino women aged 15 to 19 is already a mother or pregnant with her first child as of 2013.

Human rights group Save the Children Philippines has pushed for the passage of the teenage pregnancy bill as part of its advocacy to curb teen pregnancy in the country.
