“Lomibao’s gold signifies that he is among the WMI’s top 5% of contenders, while Navarro’s silver award signifies that he is among the top 15% of contestants,” Ateneo said.

Lomibao and Navarro bested a total of 1,911 students from Australia, Bulgaria, China, Cambodia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Kyrgyzstan, Macau, Malaysia, Philippines, Russia, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam.

The WMI is the first Taiwan-founded math competition that aims to popularize Mathematics education through its challenging annual musters.
