ASCOT DENIES COLLECTING TUITION

/ 8 August 2022

THE AURORA State College of Technology has denied the claim of a website that it collects tuition.

ASCOT was alerted about the existence of the page, Philanportal.com, which it said posts false information about courses and rates.

The said website claimed that ASCOT charges P50,549 for an academic session, which the university dismissed.

The college said that it is covered by the free education law or Republic Act 10931 or the Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act.

“ASCOT does not collect tuition fees… eligible college students enrolled in a bachelor’s degree, certificate degree or any comparable undergraduate degree from paying tuition and other school fees in SUCs,” the college said in a statement.

“Should you come across similar posts, do not hesitate to alert the authorities,” it added.
