ADMU CHIEF ELECTED PRESIDENT OF ASIA-PACIFIC JESUIT ASSOCIATION

ATENEO de Manila President Fr. Roberto Yap was elected president of the Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities-Asia Pacific.

He will succeed Professor Johanes Eka Priyatma of Sanata Dharma University in Indonesia, who has been AJCU-AP president since 2016.

Yap was also appointed as secretary for Intellectual Apostolate and Universities of the Jesuit Conference of Asia-Pacific.

His first term for both positions will be from August 1, 2022 to July 31, 2025.

However, Yap’s appointment as Secretary for Intellectual Apostolate and Universities of the Jesuit Conference of Asia-Pacific will be renewable as long as he is ACJU-AP president.

Meanwhile, Professor Yoshiaki Terumichi, president of Sophia University, was elected AJCU-AP vice president.

AJCU-AP is an association of Jesuit higher educational institutions and Jesuit higher educational endeavors functioning within the territory of the Jesuit Conference for Asia Pacific.

It supports and promotes Jesuit higher education and provides the structure for the higher educational apostolate of the JCAP.

The organization has 21 member institutions.
