ReelTalk: NOYPilikula, a major event of the DLSU-D Communication and Media Society, to be held on Saturday, June 19, 2021, will discuss tackling various topics in the independent Philippine film industry. This event will also feature some remarkable work of aspiring student filmmakers, to give the spotlight to their skills and talent.

The speakers that will be joining them are Mr. Benedict Mique, a writer and director known for his versatility in his works. To mention some of these, he was the director of ML (2018) and MOMOL Nights (2019) and the head writer of the internationally-renowned hit drama On the Wings of Love (OTWOL) (2015-2016) and Born for You (2016); Mr. Nestor Abrogena, a renowned filmmaker for his collaborative work on award-winning films like Ang Kwento Nating Dalawa (2015), and Gusto Kita with All My Hypothalamus (2018); and lastly, presentations prepared by Rocket Sheep Studio, who are known for their award-winning animated feature film, Saving Sally (2016), will also be showcased.

But that’s not where the fun and excitement end as there will also be special participation of Mr. Rod Marmol – a young film director who is now making his way up with his undeniable creativity and love for his works, specifically Cuddle Weather and Stay-in-Love.

With hopes of bringing the youth, especially the aspiring filmmakers, a glimpse of the world behind the Independent Philippine Cinema, may this event also bring joy and inspiration to them.
