The University of Makati University Student Council will hold a webinar about Cyber Libel to guide students with the usage of social media applications.

Dubbed as the “Cyberlibel Awareness Campaign,” the webinar will tackle the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012, to help provide safe spaces for students online.

“As the COVID-19 pandemic sets us away from each other, we have learned to break the boundaries and continue with our routine in the new normal way- with the use of the internet and other things that technology can offer,” the council said on Facebook.

“With the need to provide a safe online environment for our students… Join us in our campaign and help us address such issues by acquiring protective skills and promoting positive online behavior,” it added.

It will be held every Tuesday and Thursday from March 9 to 18, 2021, via Facebook Live.

The webinar series is in coordination with the UMAK USC, Center for Student Formation and Discipline, and the Center of Student Organization and Activities.
