UST ACCOUNTANCY STUDENTS WIN BUSINESS SIMULATION COMPETITION
A TEAM of Accountancy students from University of Santo Tomas was crowned champion in a recent international business simulation competition.
Rich Anne Magsombol, Lian Mae Sulit and John Arden Aya Oabel comprised the team which emerged grand winners in the Distribution Game of the SAP ERP Simulation Competition held last November 20 via Zoom.
Rosalina Erece and Apollo Layug acted as coaches of the winning team.
Manage a virtual company in a competitive market served as the objective of the game.
Participants are tasked to maximize sales while minimizing profits during the first round, then involved inventory management in the next round, and finally, teams in sales forecasting were challenged during the final round.
After three rounds, the UST entry’s virtual company got the highest value to win the contest.
Finishing second and third place were Asia Pacific University and the University of Cordillera, respectively.
The competition was organized by the SAP University Alliance and facilitated by Victoria University in Melbourne, Australia, with SAP University Council Philippines acting as host.
The UST team will compete with entries from other countries in the Manufacturing Game of the SAP ERP Simulation Competition to be held in December this year.
