THE MANILA City government has released ₱92.9 million in education assistance to the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (PLM) and the Eulogio “Amang” Rodriguez Institute of Science and Technology (EARIST) to help students meet their educational expenses and complete their studies.
Mayor Francisco “Isko” Moreno Domagoso personally turned over the subsidy checks to PLM President Atty. Domingo Reyes Jr. and EARIST President Rogelio Mamaradlo.
Of the total amount, P62.5 million was allocated for PLM’s College Subsidy Program covering July to September 2026, while P6.803 million was provided to EARIST.
The city government also released P23.607 million in allowances for 7,869 PLM students. Each beneficiary will receive P1,000 monthly for July, August, and September, equivalent to P3,000 per student for the three-month period.
The P62.5-million subsidy for PLM was scheduled for distribution from October 12 to 15, 2026, to help cover students’ educational expenses.
The city government expressed its gratitude to Manila taxpayers, emphasizing that public funds play a vital role in expanding access to education and providing young Manileños with opportunities to build a better future.
The initiative forms part of the local government’s continuing efforts to ease the financial burden of education, support students in pursuing higher education, and help them complete their studies despite rising educational costs.
