LAWMAKER CALLS FOR SAFER SCHOOLS
SENATE Committee on Basic Education Chairman Bam Aquino condemned the school shooting in Banga, South Cotabato, and urged the government to immediately strengthen safety measures in schools and communities to protect students and teachers.
Aquino said the deadly violence was deeply alarming, particularly because it occurred inside a school, which should be a safe place for learners.
Speaking as a father, Aquino expressed concern over the loss of life and called on authorities to act swiftly to ensure the safety of educational institutions.
He also warned against treating school shootings as a normal occurrence.
The senator stressed the need for Filipinos to work together to safeguard the lives and future of the country’s youth.
