EDUCATION is among the priority sectors under the proposed P7.2-trillion National Expenditure Program (NEP) for fiscal year 2027 submitted by the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) to President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.

Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said Monday that the proposed national budget prioritizes education, along with healthcare, livelihood, national security, and community empowerment, as part of the administration’s efforts to promote inclusive and resilient growth.

“Nakatuon ang budget sa edukasyon, kalusugan, kabuhayan, seguridad, at pagpapalakas ng mga komunidad alinsunod sa temang ‘people-centered growth for an inclusive and resilient future,’” Castro said.

The proposed expenditure program aims to maximize the use of public funds by strengthening government services and expanding opportunities for Filipinos.

“Layunin nitong gawing mas kapaki-pakinabang ang bawat pisong pampublikong pondo sa pamamagitan ng mas mahusay na serbisyo at mas maraming oportunidad para sa mga Pilipino,” she added.
