SEVERAL local governments and schools have suspended classes on Monday, August 10, as persistent rains brought by the southwest monsoon, or habagat, continue to affect parts of the country.

The suspensions cover various grade levels and, in some areas, both public and private schools. Some institutions have also shifted from face-to-face learning to online or modular instruction.

The following areas and schools have announced class suspensions as of the latest updates:

REGION I

Ilocos Sur

No classes at all levels in both public and private schools.
Work in public offices is also suspended.
CORDILLERA ADMINISTRATIVE REGION (CAR)

Abra

No classes at all levels in public and private schools.
Work in all government offices is also suspended.

Benguet

No face-to-face classes at all levels in public and private schools.
REGION III — CENTRAL LUZON

Bulacan

No classes at all levels in public and private schools.

Nueva Ecija

No classes at all levels in public and private schools.
REGION IV-A — CALABARZON

Batangas

Lemery

No face-to-face classes at all levels in public and private schools.
Schools are directed to shift to modular or online distance learning.

Cavite

Bacoor

No classes at all levels in public and private schools.
NATIONAL CAPITAL REGION

Marikina City

No face-to-face and online classes at all levels in public and private schools.
SCHOOLS

Far Eastern University — Manila and Makati

Face-to-face classes are suspended.
Classes will shift to online synchronous learning.

University of Santo Tomas

No face-to-face classes at all levels.
The university will implement its Enriched Virtual Mode of Instruction.
