THE MANILA City Government, led by Mayor Isko Moreno, has partnered with the Rex Education Foundation, Inc. to strengthen public library services and foster a culture of reading among residents.

The city government and the foundation signed a memorandum of agreement for the establishment of Barangay Reading Centers through a Mobile Library that will visit various communities across Manila, providing more Manileños with easier access to books and other learning resources.

City officials said the initiative aims to bring educational materials closer to residents, particularly those who have limited access to traditional library facilities, while creating more opportunities for community-based learning.

The Manila City Library said the Mobile Library project will help expand access to quality reading materials, establish community reading centers, enhance mobile library services, and promote lifelong learning among Manileños.

“Together, we are building a more literate, informed, and empowered community,” the Manila City Library said in a statement.

The initiative is part of the city’s continuing efforts to encourage reading, improve literacy, and make learning resources more accessible to communities.
