PNP TO DEPLOY OVER 55,000 PERSONNEL FOR OPENING OF CLASSES
THE PHILIPPINE National Police (PNP) said it will deploy more than 55,000 personnel nationwide to help secure schools during the opening of classes on June 8.
The deployment includes 28,751 police officers, 4,079 personnel from other PNP units, and 22,677 members of partner agencies and community groups.
“This comprehensive deployment includes organic police officers dedicated to high-visibility campus patrols, traffic management, and the manning of police assistance desks, reinforced by auxiliary forces and community partners,” PNP chief Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. said.
“Rest assured, this proactive school security measure is seamlessly integrated into our enhanced police operational management,” he added.
Classes for School Year 2026–2027 in public schools are set to begin on June 8.
Meanwhile, the Department of Education (DepEd) reported that nearly 26 million learners have enrolled for the upcoming school year.
“As of Friday last week, we have close to 26 million learners who have already enrolled,” DepEd Assistant Secretary Jocelyn Andaya said.
