10 May 2026

NATIONAL University  cemented its dynasty in UAAP men’s volleyball after defeating Far Eastern University (FEU), 26-24, 25-22, 25-22, in Game 2 of the finals at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City on Saturday (May 9, 2026).

With the straight-sets victory, the Bulldogs clinched their sixth consecutive championship and eighth overall title in league history, further strengthening their status as one of the division’s most successful programs.

Leo Ordiales delivered a standout performance, finishing with 24 points to lead NU to the title. His efforts earned him Finals Most Valuable Player honors, along with the Best Opposite Spiker award.

“The award is just a bonus because our real goal is to get the six-peat,” Ordiales said after the match.

NU had earlier taken Game 1 in a five-set battle, with Ordiales again leading the charge.

Jade Disquitado added 13 points along with 15 receptions and five digs, while Michaelo Buddin contributed eight points and 17 receptions. Team captain Peng Taguibolos chipped in seven points, highlighted by five blocks, and Obed Mukaba sealed the championship with a final attack in a one-hour-and-28-minute match.

Head coach Dante Alinsunurin credited the team’s resilience throughout the season despite early struggles in the eliminations.

“We struggled in the first and second rounds, but the players trusted the system and each other,” he said.

For FEU, Mikko Espartero led the team with 17 points while Amet Bituin added 10, as the Tamaraws finished runner-up for the second straight season.

Meanwhile, University of Santo Tomas star Josh Ybañez captured his third season MVP award, finishing with a league-best 90.192 statistical points.
