P360-M DORMITORY FOR STUDENT-ATHLETES TO RISE AT NATIONAL ACADEMY OF SPORTS

/ 3 July 2025

SENATOR Christopher “Bong” Go welcomed the upcoming construction of a ₱360-million dormitory within the National Academy of Sports (NAS) campus in New Clark City, Capas, Tarlac.

The project, mandated by law to provide world-class facilities for student-athletes—including dormitories, classrooms, and training venues—marks another milestone in the institution’s development, which Go has long advocated for.

Go stressed the importance of giving student-athletes safe, comfortable, and inspiring living and training environments, especially those coming from remote areas.

The dormitory is a joint project between the Department of Budget and Management and the Bases Conversion and Development Authority. It will be a five-storey, 1,500-square-meter facility designed to accommodate up to 400 student-athletes.

It will feature 28 quad-sharing rooms equally divided for male and female residents, as well as an atrium, dining hall, recreational areas, kitchen, dishwashing section, laundry rooms, and administrative offices.

“Hindi lang sa kompetisyon ang suporta dapat natin. Mahalaga na masuportahan natin ang kanilang mental at physical preparations—lalo na ngayon na mayroon na tayong NAS na naisabatas noon, at patuloy na pinapaganda ngayon para sa kapakanan ng ating mga young athletes,” Go said.

Located in New Clark City, the NAS offers a unique dual-track system that combines quality secondary education with a specialized sports curriculum—allowing student-athletes to hone their skills while continuing their academic journey.
