SENATOR REAFFIRMS SUPPORT FOR TEACHERS’ SALARY INCREASE
SENATOR Sherwin Gatchalian reiterated his strong support for the long-overdue salary increase and additional benefits for the country’s teachers, vowing to push for these reforms in the 20th Congress.
Gatchalian emphasized that raising teachers’ salaries and benefits is not only a recognition of their vital role in society but also a concrete step toward ensuring a dignified standard of living for educators.
“This representation remains steadfast in pushing for a long-overdue salary increase and additional benefits for our teachers in the 20th Congress,” said Gatchalian.
“Raising their pay and benefits is a tangible way to acknowledge their crucial contributions and uphold their dignity,” he added.
Looking ahead, Gatchalian expressed his commitment to continuing efforts to amend the Magna Carta for Public School Teachers to further strengthen the protection of their rights and welfare.
He also pledged to advocate for the institutionalization of the Career Progression System for Public School Teachers, a program designed to provide clear pathways for career growth and professional development.
As a long-time advocate for education reforms, Gatchalian reaffirmed that supporting teachers remains a priority in building a stronger and more resilient education system for the country.
