CITY OF MALABON UNIVERSITY SUSPENDS CLASSES DUE TO BOMB THREAT
THE CITY of Malabon University on Monday announced the suspension of all afternoon classes following a bomb threat received via email.
The university administration said the safety and security of its students and personnel remain its highest priority.
In an official statement, CMU said the decision to suspend classes was made after a thorough risk assessment in consultation with local law enforcement authorities.
“The suspension allows for a controlled and orderly evacuation of the campus, facilitating a comprehensive search and investigation,” the statement read.
Local authorities conducted an extensive investigation to determine the origin and credibility of the threat, including a detailed search of the campus and the analysis of digital evidence.
University security personnel are also working to further enhance safety measures throughout the campus.
“We understand that this disruption to the academic schedule may cause inconvenience. However, the safety and security of our community must take precedence over all other considerations,” the university said, urging students, faculty, and staff to remain calm and follow instructions from university officials and law enforcement.
CMU assured the community that regular updates would be provided through official channels, including email, text message alerts, and the university website.
They also encouraged everyone to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activity immediately.
“We appreciate the understanding and cooperation of our students, faculty, staff, and their families during this challenging time,” the statement concluded.
