PVL: CREAMLINE AIMS TO KEEP UNBEATEN RUN VS CHERY TIGGO

6 February 2025

THE CREAMLINE Cool Smashers are looking to maintain their perfect record in the Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference as they face the Chery Tiggo Crossovers on Thursday, February 6, at the Philsports Arena in Pasig City.

Creamline extended its unbeaten streak to seven games with a hard-fought 25-19, 26-24, 23-25, 23-25, 15-9 win over Cignal last weekend. Bernadeth Pons was instrumental in the victory, delivering an outstanding performance with 27 points, including 24 kills, 2 aces, and a block, along with 14 excellent digs.

“I just want to be consistent. My goal every day in training is to improve, even if it’s just by one percent,” Pons shared after being named Press Corps Player of the Week for January 28 to February 1.

Head coach Norman Miguel will count on Pons along with other key players like Tots Carlos, Jema Galanza, Bea de Leon, Michele Gumabao, Pangs Panaga, and Alyssa Valdez to keep the momentum going.

Meanwhile, the Chery Tiggo Crossovers are coming off a 1-4 loss to ZUS Coffee on January 30 and are tied for fifth place with a 5-4 record. The Crossovers will rely on the leadership of Ara Galang, Cess Robles, Shaya Adorador, Aby Maraño, Seth Rodriguez, and Pauline Gaston as they look to upset the unbeaten Cool Smashers.

In the other match, Cignal (5-3) aims to bounce back against Capital1 (1-7) at 6:30 p.m.
