USC LAW STUDENTS TRIUMPH IN ASEAN STETSON MOOT COURT COMPETITION
LAW students from the University of San Carlos won the Best Memorial Award at the 2025 Southeast Asian Regional Rounds of the Stetson International Environmental Moot Court Competition.
Neil Glova Jr., Earl Max Eata, and Joanna Camille Aparece advanced to the semifinals, securing a spot in the Top 3 teams and earning the Southeast Asian Overall Best Memorial Award.
The Carolinian team outperformed prestigious institutions like UP Law and Singapore Management University in crafting their memorials.
In mooting competitions, a memorial is a critical written submission outlining a team’s legal arguments, supported by relevant statutes, case law, and legal precedents.
Having qualified for the international rounds, the USC team will represent Southeast Asia in Florida, USA, from April 9 to 12, 2025, at the 29th Stetson Moot Court Competition.
“This achievement continues USC Law’s tradition of excellence in mooting, having previously won the 2016 International Environmental Moot Court Competition and the Overall Best Memorial Award,” said the school.
USC students were mentored by Head Coach and Assistant USC Law Dean Atty. Daryl Bretch M. Largo, alongside Assistant Coaches Atty. Mark Lawrence Badayos and Atty. Rhomeljustein Redoble.
The competition, held from January 16 to 18, 2025, at the University of the Philippines Diliman’s Malcolm Hall, saw participation from 27 teams across six countries.
