THE DEPARTMENT of Education has signed a covenant initiated by ABS-CBN to ensure the smooth and peaceful conduct of the National and Local Midterm Elections in May 2025.

DepEd was represented by Assistant Secretary Cilette Liboro-Co, alongside representatives from other national government agencies, media, and civil society groups.

“DepEd plays a vital role in the conduct of elections,” the Department stated.

The event was attended by Commission on Elections Chairperson George Erwin Garcia, Department of Information and Communications Technology Secretary Ivan John Uy, Philippine National Police Chief General Rommel Marbil, and other officials from both the public and private sectors.

The signing ceremony took place on Tuesday and was led by ABS-CBN Chairman Mark Lopez, President and CEO Carlo Katigbak, COO for Broadcast Cory Vidanes, and Comelec Chairman George Garcia.
