MANHUNT ON FOR SUSPECT IN NURSES’ SLAY
THE CALOOCAN City Police launched a manhunt operation against the suspect in the killing of two nursing graduates and a student on September 28.
Lt. Col. Ilustre Mendonza, assistant city police chief, identified their primary suspect as Anselmo Singcol, a construction worker who was hired by the victims to renovate the house they are staying in Catmon Street, Barangay 179 in the said city.
Mendoza said that Singcol reportedly fled to Ormoc after the discovery of the bodies of nursing graduates Glydyl Mamon Belonio, 22, and Mona Ismael Habibulla, 28, and nursing student Arjay Belencio.
The victims were stabbed to death. Their bodies were found by a neighbor.
Police investigation revealed that Singcol was fired by the victims when one of them found him using illegal drugs.
Singcol was charged with robbery with homicide after police said that some belongings and cash of the victims were found missing.
Meanwhile, Singcol’s brothers Alden and Adonis, also construction workers, were previously apprehended by police and are believed to be persons of interest in the case.
