70 OUTSTANDING FILIPINO STUDENTS GET SCHOLARSHIPS FROM TAIWAN

SEVENTY outstanding Filipino students were granted scholarships to study in Taiwan.

Of these, 45 will study Mandarin through the Huayu Enrichment Scholarship, 18 received scholarship from the Taiwan Ministry of Education, and seven got the International Cooperation and Development Fund scholarship.

The Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in the Philippines congratulated the scholars during the Taiwan Scholarship Awards Ceremony on July 28.

Representative Wallace Minn-Gan Chow said that he was excited at the prospects the students would reach while studying in Taiwan.

Silvestre Bello III, the chairman of the Manila Economic and Cultural Office, encouraged the scholars to serve as an enduring band of friendship between Taiwan and the Philippines.

The Taiwan Scholarship programs aim to help hone talented Filipinos into professionals and leaders who will help contribute to the development of the Philippines.
