NAVOTAS ‘ALL SET’ FOR THE OCTOBER 5 SCHOOL OPENING

/ 27 September 2020

THE SCHOOLS Division Office of Navotas City said it is all set and ready for the opening of classes on October 5.

“Indeed, SDO Navotas is 100 percent ready for distance learning this school year 2020-2021,” SDO Navotas said in a statement.

Just recently, the division launched SDO Navotas Kwentong Navobox, a bite-size weekly social media video features to intensify info-advocacy on the milestones of the SDO Learning Continuity Program and ongoing preparations for the October 5 opening of classes.

The Kwentong Navobox was created by the Division team led by the Schools Division Superintendent Alejandro Ibañez, Division Information and Media Relations Officer Marco Meduranda also EPS in English.

The said advocacy video series was directed and edited by Cesar Salvame, with Brix Federis and Sharon Canut as lead host and segment host—both public school teachers of the division.

The first episode showcases the whole-of-society approach as a facilitating factor in the success of the SDO and schools’ efforts in the implementation of the activities of LCP including division-wide simulations, preparations of learning packages and actual distribution of Navoschool boxes to parents.

Despite the pandemic, SDO Navotas has increased its enrollment to 50,025, a 4.85 percent increase compared to last year’s data. The division also achieved 100 percent distribution rate of learning packages as all Navoschool boxes are now at the households of the learners.

SDO Navotas has also just concluded its kickoff program for the class opening via the division general orientation on the operationalization of distance learning held last September 21-22.
