FILIPINO STUDENTS WIN 1,310 MEDALS IN INTERNATIONAL MATH COMPETITION
FILIPINO learners from public and private schools bagged 1,310 medals in the International Kangaroo Mathematics Competition, of which 148 were gold medals.
The students won 358 silver and 804 bronze medals for demonstrating exceptional problem-solving and mathematical skills.
Of the participating schools, MGC New Life Christian Academy won the most gold medals with 9, followed by Saint Jude Catholic School with 8, and Grace Christian College with 7.
Taguig Integrated School and Tanauan City Integrated High School also won two gold medals each.
The Department of Education said that the successful conduct of the 2023 IKMC will inspire young mathematicians around the world to pursue their passion for mathematics and strive to become better.
Established in 1991, the IKMC is considered one of the most prestigious international mathematics competitions with the aim of promoting interest and excellence in mathematics among young people.
