SENATOR SEEKS ESTABLISHMENT OF BULACAN STATE UNIVERSITY SYSTEM
SENATOR Joel Villanueva wants to establish the Bulacan State University System to integrate all its campuses.
He filed Senate Bill 1620 or the proposed Bulacan State University System Act which seeks to transform the Bulacan State University into a Bulacan State University System by integrating its existing main campus and other campuses in Bustos, San Jose del Monte, Bulacan, Hagonoy and San Rafael.
“The system seeks to build a multi-clustered campus university system that will advance strategic plans and allow each of its campuses to fulfill their distinct university goals and serve the growing need of each municipality of the province, while at the same time maintaining the Bulacan State University brand in leading educational pathways anchored with career-focused programs, competence, and outcome-driven innovation,” Villanueva said in his explanatory note.
Under the measure, BSU campuses shall exercise education decentralization or campus semi-autonomy by giving the budgets and the authority to make important educational and related financial decisions.
The system entails the development and employment of all available capabilities that can address its areas which were assessed of the needed modernization improvements.
