AN ALUMNI group of the University of the Philippines High School in Iloilo donated P308,500 to the UP Visayas’ Adopt-a-Room Project.

UPHSI Batch 76 President Edgardo Luis recently signed a Memorandum of Agreement with UPV Chancellor Clement Camposano to fund the repair and refurbishment of a selected room adopted under the project.

Officials of the university and other members of the alumni group witnessed the signing of the MOU at the Conference Hall of the Museum of Arts and Cultural Heritage of UPV Iloilo City Campus.

The UPV Adopt-A-Room is a project of the Office of the Chancellor that was launched in November 2022.

“Camposano recognized the donation in his message as a vote of confidence for the University and the belief of the alumni in what UPV can do as it performs its mandate,” UPV said in a statement.

“The Chancellor acknowledged that the MOOEs of the University are not enough for its yearly operations. Hence, the support of the alumni through donations is valuable, especially since UPV is entering into a blended format in its instruction and there are requirements for these modalities,” it added.
