UP VISAYAS DEAN APPOINTED AS CHED TECHNICAL PANEL MEMBER
UNIVERSITY of the Philippines Visayas College of Fisheries Dean Emilia Yap has been appointed as a technical panel member of the Commission on Higher Education’s Fisheries Education.
Yap took took her oath on February 7, 2023 before CHED Chairman Prospero de Vera III.
She joined the seven-person panel led by its chairman Michael Tiu Lim, the vice president for Business Development of Mega Fishing Corp.
The other members of the panel are Atty. Gloria E. Ramos, Vice President, Oceana- Phils; Dr. Carlos Baylon, member of PRC Board of Fisheries; Dr. Catalino Dela Cruz, member of PRC Board of Fisheries; Dr. Maria Rowena Equia, professor at De La Salle University; and retired Scientist, and Dr. Dan M. Arriesgado, dean of School of Marine Fisheries and Technology in Mindanao State University – Naawan.
The panel will assist CHED in evaluating and assessing the fisheries programs in the country.
“The technical panel is expected to assist CHED in the formulation of policies and standards, and in the evaluation or assessment of higher education institutions and the program offerings,” UPV said.
