CITY OF MALABON U TEACHERS SEEK RELEASE OF SALARIES

/ 23 December 2022

TEACHERS from the City of Malabon University called for the release of their salaries which had been delayed.

Around 100 teachers lamented that they have yet to receive their salaries for June, October and November.

The teachers include full-time, part-time, and guest lecturers.

“Ang laging sinasabi, kino-compute pa, pino-process pa, inaasikaso naman,” one teacher said.

The CMU has been dealing with financial issues after being removed as one of the beneficiaries of free education for its failure to submit complete documents to the Commission on Higher Education.

Included in the benefits of free education is the compensation for faculty members which is now being shouldered by the municipality of Malabon.

Several faculty members shared that they have received their salaries.

“There is full cooperation from CMU’s faculty and staff in the ongoing remedial efforts and everyone has high hopes for the year ahead,” CMU said in a statement on Facebook.
