FILIPINO youth wanting to pursue higher education abroad are encouraged to avail of the scholarship offered under the Erasmus+ program of the European Union.

According to EU Ambassador to the Philippines Luc Véron, studying in Europe will equip Filipino students with a distinct viewpoint that will be valuable for both personal and professional growth.

“As the European Union celebrates the 2022 International Year of the Youth, we are focused on enabling the youth to be ready for innovation and to help build a better future — greener, more inclusive, and digital,” Véron said in his speech during the opening of the two-day hybrid European Higher Education Fair 2022 on Friday.

EU delegation deputy head Ana Isabel Sanchez Ruiz said EHEF 2022 includes information sessions on Erasmus+ scholarship and how Filipinos can apply.

“If you’re looking to pursue higher education that is a cut above the rest, then the EU is the best place for you. Beyond countless spots and diverse cultures, the EU is widely recognized as a center of excellence and has established its educational preeminence with superior academic courses, mobility and scholarship opportunities, and cutting-edge technology,” Ruiz said.

With its theme ‘Youth for Excellence Innovation’, the education fair highlighted the important role of young people in advancing education, science and research to build a better future – greener, more inclusive and digital.

The hybrid fair featured more than 100 higher education institutions participating on-ground and online from Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Germany, Ireland, Spain, France, Italy, Hungary, Netherlands, Poland, Austria, Finland, and Sweden.

The EU delegation said the program gives opportunities for Filipino students “to experience the European culture, learning European languages and being integrated into the European society for one to two years.”
