UST EARNS REACCREDITED STATUS FOR 6 DEGREE PROGRAMS
THE UNIVERSITY of Santo Tomas earned five-year reaccredited status for six of its degree programs from the Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation.
These programs are BS Applied Mathematics major in Actuarial Science, BS Applied Physics major in Instrumentation, BS Biology (now with specializations in Environmental Biology, Industrial Biology, and Medical Biology), BS Chemistry, BS Microbiology and BS Psychology.
PACUCOA’s endorsement led to the issuance of certificates by the Federation of Accrediting Agencies of the Philippines, which is valid until November 2026.
“Actuarial Science, Biology, Chemistry, Microbiology, and Psychology maintained the Level IV Re-accredited Status,” the university said.
“These five programs were the first programs of the University to attain the coveted top status. Meanwhile, Applied Physics program received the Level II Re-accredited Status,” it added.
PACUCOA uses a five-level accreditation system, beginning from candidate status to Level IV, the highest level.
For Level IV, among the criteria assessed were teaching and learning outcomes, research productivity, community service, linkages and consortia, career planning and development for students and planning process.
