VICE PRESIDENT and Education Secretary Sara Duterte-Carpio said that President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has given her agency a year to review and re-asses the K to 12 curriculum.

“We were given by President Marcos, one year this school year, the school year 2022-2023, to give a final answer about our K to 12 program here in the country,” she said.

Marcos previously voiced support for a review of the program’s curriculum to address the urgent problems including job mismatch.

The review also aims to improve the quality of education in the country.

“There have also been lengthy discussions on the continuation and viability of the K to 12 school system. We are giving this a careful review, and all necessary inputs and points of view are now being considered,” he said.
