RAVENA VS RAMOS ROUND 3 TILT CALLED OFF AS TWO LAKESTARS TEST POSITIVE FOR COVID-19
Japan B.League game between Kiefer Ravena and Dwight Ramos has been cancelled after two members of Lakestars tested positive for COVID-19.
The B.League announced the cancellation of the third showdown of Shiga against Toyama Grouses on Wednesday following a player and a staff member tested positive for COVID-19 and left the rest of the team as close contacts.
“One player belonging to Shiga Lakestars and one team staff received a positive test for the novel coronavirus, and the other players were close contacts in the B League’s own close contact criteria,” wrote the league’s statement.
“We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience and concern to the Toyama Grouses, the boosters, and all the people involved. We appreciate your understanding,” the Shiga organization announced.
It would have been the third clash between Ravena and Ramos, which Ramos and the Grouses took both games last December – 107-102 last December 11; and 95-90 a day later.
This is already the fifth game of Shiga that had to be postponed and is also facing the possibility of cancellation against Gunma this weekend at Ota City Athletic Park Citizen’s Gymnasium due to COVID-19 protocols.
The Lakestars last played on January 3, which they took a 92-67 loss to the Akita Northern Happinets.
The team looks to break its three-game skid and improve from its 9-17 record.
Meanwhile, Toyama, who holds 11-19 slate, will host the Hiroshima Dragonflies at Toyama City Gymnasium this weekend.
