PACQUIAO OFFERS HELP TO SORT OUT OBIENA AND PATAFA CONFLICT
PRESIDENTIAL Aspirant Senator Manny Pacquiao offered his office to the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) to sort out the conflict between the Olympian Pole Vaulter Ernest John Obiena and the Philippine Athletics Track and Field Association (PATAFA).
“If needed, I can offer myself and my office to the PSC so that everyone can sit down and sort this out. Huwag na po tayong maging technical dito. Ayusin na lang natin ito nang sa gayon ay makapag ensayo na sa EJ sa kanyang mga susunod na laban,” said Pacquiao.
Pacquiao believed it is best for the parties involved to talk and resolve the rift and trusts that everyone will comply with PSC’s recommendation.
The world-renowned former boxer, now politician, asked to stop “senseless conflicts” as it affects world-class athletes like Obiena.
“Tulungan natin siyang magtagumpay at hindi yung wawasakin pa ang kanyang mga pinaghirapan. Ej is a once-in-lifetime treasure in Philippine sports, huwag natin siyang sayangin,” he added.
PATAFA previously recommended dropping Obiena from the national training pool of athletes and file an estafa complaint against him.
