SENATOR PRODS PARENTS TO HAVE THEIR CHILDREN VACCINATED

/ 6 January 2022

SENATOR Edgardo ‘Sonny’  Angara reminded the public to remain vigilant and to take the necessary steps to protect themselves amid the resurgence of Covid19 cases.

Alarmed by the surge, Angara on Wednesday urged the parents of minors aged 12 to 17 to have their children vaccinated.

The Food and Drug Administration approved the use of the Pfizer BioNTech vaccine for minors aged five to 11 and the inoculation should start soon.

“Our goal is to have most, if not all, of the population vaccinated. The government poured in a significant amount of resources to boost the country’s supply of vaccines and this is being done to ensure that all Filipinos are protected from Covid19,” Angara said.

The senator renewed his call on those who have yet to receive their vaccinations to avail of the free doses.

The Department of Health noted that 85 percent of patients with severe Covid19 in the intensive care units of hospitals are unvaccinated.

He also reminded the public to continue observing the health protocols whenever they have to go out of their homes.
