POC PREPARES IN HIGH GEAR FOR HANOI SEAG, SETS “CHEF DE MISSION” SAYS PRESIDENT TOLENTINO
Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) president Rep. Abraham “Bambol” Tolentino said that A "chef de mission" meeting is set in early January in preparation for the 31st Southeast Asian Games (SEAG) opening ceremony in Hanoi on May 12 next year.
“Although the SEA Games are just months away, we believe the hosts are doing everything for a successful hosting,” Tolentino said.
“They’re prepared, because if not for the pandemic, the Games should have been done and over with this time,” he added.
The chef de mission was set to shift the scheme of the country in hosting such international events into high gear.
The said meeting will be held face-to-face in which the Philippines is going to be represented by the commissioner of the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) Ramon Fernandez.
While the second chef de mission is set for March 13 as well as the Technical Delegates.
A number of 626 athletes is set to l compete in 29 of the 30 sports in the Hanoi tournament.
