TO AVOID Covid19 infections among children, the city government of Parañaque has issued an executive order that limits minors’ movement in public places.

Mayor Edwin Olivarez said that minors aged 12 to 17 are only allowed in malls, shopping centers, and similar establishments if they are accompanied by a fully vaccinated adult.

As for minors aged 11 and below, Olivarez said they could only go outdoors if they are accompanied by fully vaccinated adults.

“Maaari lamang payagan sa indoor areas ang mga may edad 11 pababa kung lubos na kinakailangan upang kumuha ng essential na mga bagay at serbisyo o para sa mga gawaing pangkalusugan o legal, o upang sumangguni sa mga opisina ng gobyerno,” the mayor said.

On Tuesday, President Rodrigo Duterte urged local government units to pass ordinances that bar the entry of unvaccinated children in public spaces.

Duterte made the remark after several health experts raised concerns regarding a two-year-old boy who tested positive for Covid19 after a mall visit last week.

Interior and Local Government Undersecretary Jonathan Malaya noted that several LGUs are now crafting ordinances that will limit the movement of kids in public areas.
