LESS THAN 3% NOT YET ENROLLED IN PUBLIC SCHOOLS – DEPED
WITH the forthcoming opening of classes, the Department of Education said that less than 3% of the students in public schools were not yet enrolled for this academic year.
Meanwhile, 14% or less than 4 million of students have not enrolled for both private and public schools, said DepEd Undersecretary Diosdado San Antonio in an interview.
As of September 2, a total number of 24,020,421 have been enrolled for school year 2020-2021.
The enrollment is still ongoing as long students can cope with the classes, San Antonio said.
More than 50% of the students chose the printed learning despite having different modes of education. However, he suggested that students should utilize online learning if they have access instead of the printed modules.
Since synchronous and asynchronous learning will be used, he emphasized that a limited screen time will be mandated for the students.
