YOUTH GROUP PUSHES CALL FOR SAFE RESUMPTION OF F2F CLASSES

/ 10 November 2021

THE STUDENT Christian Movement of the Philippines reiterated its call to the government to provide assistance to students and ensure the safe and gradual resumption of face-to-face classes.

Kej Andres, the group’s national spokesperson, said that the education sector is in “terrible state.”

Andres pointed out that many students lack gadgets and access to the internet, while those studying in private schools have to bear tuition increases.

“They are experiencing unprecedented mental, emotional, and physical woes because of the failed distance learning under the failed pandemic response of the Duterte administration,” he said.

“Some students have taken their own lives because of the crisis this state of education has brought to them. Never again to these kinds of tragedies,” he added.

He called on other organizations to unite and push for better educational system.

“We call all education stakeholders to amplify the students’ calls for P10,000 student aid, academic ease, and safe resumption of classes,” Andres said.
