/ 29 October 2021

THE INOCULATION of minors aged 12 to 17 is in full swing in Las Piñas and Malabon cities.

Las Piñas Mayor Imelda Aguilar said the gymnasium of the University of Perpetual Help System-Dalta was used as one of the jab sites because it can accommodate more people and the school has its own hospital.

Aguilar said that the city government plans to conduct vaccination in malls that are located near hospitals.

The Las Piñas General Hospital, Satellite Trauma Center, and UPHDS were also tapped for the pediatric vaccination in the city.

In Malabon City, at least 315 adolescents aged 12 to 17 received their Covid19 jabs on Wednesday, October 27.

The pediatric vaccination started on Oct. 26 and will last on Oct. 29 at the Oreta Sports Complex.

Only those who registered online will be vaccinated, the city government said.

Meanwhile, Pateros Mayor Miguel ‘Ike’ Ponce III directed parents of children aged 12 to 17 to read and understand the informed consent and assent form of pediatric inoculation.

Ponce said the forms will be given to the parents and children at the vaccination center on the day of their inoculation. They need to sign and submit it to a health worker.

The mayor added that the Covid19 vaccination for minors in the city will start on November 3.

As of October 26, 18,666 minors with comorbidities have received their first dose of Covid19 vaccine in the National Capital Region.
