HOUSE PANEL APPROVES MEASURE EXPANDING MINDANAO STATE U
THE Committee on Higher and Technical Education of the House of Representatives has approved a measure supporting the expansion of the Mindanao State University.
In a virtual hearing chaired by Baguio City Representative Mark Go, the committee adopted House Resolution 2189 — authored by AMIN Partylist Representatives Mujiv Hataman and Amihilda Sangcopan— commemorating the 60th founding anniversary of the Mindanao State University and commending the institution for its invaluable contribution to the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region and its people.
Commission on Higher Education Officer in Charge Deputy Executive Director Lily Frieda Milla said MSU should be lauded for its many contributions to higher education.
The committee also approved House Bill 9428 which seeks to establish an MSU campus in the Municipality of Munai in Lanao del Norte, to be known as the MSU-Munai Campus.
Lanao del Norte 2nd District Rep. Abdullah Dimaporo said the primary intention of the bill is peace.
“It is not only education that we are after but the continuous peace and development of our province through the unity of our people,” Dimaporo said.
He said Muslims and Christians can be together at the proposed MSU campus.
