NEWLY RENOVATED WEST CENTRAL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL OPENS
THE HOME Economics Building of the West Central Elementary School in Dagupan, Pangasinan has opened after two years of renovation.
The building was formerly used as the headquarters of General Douglas MacArthur. It was constructed in the 1930s during the American occupation, originally intended for student use.
The building’s official opening was part of the nationwide turnover of newly renovated Gabaldon buildings.
The ceremonies were led by the Department of Education and the National Commission for Culture and the Arts.
The Gabaldon School Buildings Conservation Act, or Republic Act 11194, classifies school buildings established during the American colonial period as heritage sites.
The heritage buildings were renovated by the Department of Public Works and Highways.
