MEET YOUR VIRTUAL CLASSMATES
We have taken the liberty of listing some, if not all, kinds of students in online classes. Which one are you on this list?
It has been a year since the country has shifted to online learning. With this new method of education comes a number of challenges that test the limits of every student and educator. While many have adjusted to this new setup, others struggle to find their groove. But one thing is for sure, just as there are different types of people in the world, there are also a variety of virtual students in online learning.
Here in The FEED we have taken the liberty of listing some, if not all, kinds of students in our online classes. So without further ado, let us all meet our virtual classmates.
The Forever Late
As the saying goes “old habits die hard.” There will always be that one student in class who for some reason is always late. And while some may think there won’t be any latecomers in class since we now take our classes at home without the annoying traffic we have to endure during face-to-face classes — think again. It seems that there has been an influx of latecomers in class ever since online classes started. But hey, who can blame them especially if your classroom is just beside your own bed.
The Sleeping Beauty
If some of your classmates are always late in your online classes, there are some who are always on time. But how sure are you that these students are actually with you during Zoom calls? Behind that screen is a sleeping beauty snoring peacefully all throughout the class. These students always made sure that they are always on time and is present there for attendance but would always fall asleep right after.
No Ligo Gang
This type of student is a combination of the two aforementioned. It’s either they forgot that they have a class that’s why they are in a rush or they just love sleeping so much that they woke up late. Either way, they don’t care what they look on camera and will not take bath before Zoom calls for as long as they attend the class. What matters is “hindi naman amoy sa camera.”
Pak Awra!
If some do not care about what they look on camera, others take the time to prepare. They will always come to class with a fresh look and OOTDs. These students will wake up early just to do their hair and makeup. More often than not, these are the ones who have a nice clean background on top of a ring light to give that nice high-quality video on Zoom. And if you ask them why? They’ll say “kaklase ko kasi si crush.”
Sir Na-Disconnect Ako
In this shift to online learning comes with its own set of challenges. One of these is slow internet — come on PLDT step up your game! But while some aren’t blessed with fast internet, there are those who you can’t help but wonder if they really have slow internet connection or is it just an excuse? These students will use the famous line “Sir, na-disconnect ako” once their name is called. But let’s be real, we’ve all used this line at least once.
The Food is Life
Whether it’s online classes or not we all can’t resist a good snack to relieve the boredom of a long and tiring class. While some may be able to resist the temptation of eating, there are those who couldn’t care less if you see them eating or not. This particular student loves to eat just about as any other person but with less self-control. With online classes nowadays, it’s easier to eat during the duration of the meeting than before or after. Good thing it’s online classes or else that mangga with bagoong will surely smell inside the classroom.
Online classes are hard but it is made bearable knowing that you have your classmates to share it with. So, what kind of student are you?
