DOST URGES DEPED, LGUs TO SET UP SCIENCE HIGH SCHOOLS
THE DEPARTMENT of Science and Technology prodded the Department of Education and local governments to establish science high schools to educate the country’s future scientists and researchers.
DOST Undersecretary for Research and Development Rowena Christina L. Guevara said that putting up more science high schools will help talented Filipinos.
“I hope that the Department of Education together with the local government units will put up more science high schools, ‘yan ang paraan natin para mapaganda natin ang facilities for these talented young people who can be our future researchers,” she said.
She added that LGU-sponsored science high schools will enable high school students “work with world-class facilities.”
Guevara said the Philippine Science High School System, an attached agency of the DOST, has 16 campuses.
