Handa na ang Globe na magbigay ng serbisyong Libreng Tawag, Charging at WiFi sa Batangas evacuation sites sa gitna ng muling pag-aalboroto ng bulkang Taal.

Nakataas ngayon ang Alert Level 2 or Increased Unrest sa Taal Volcano matapos maobserbahan kamakailan ang muling pagbuga nito ng mataas na lebel ng sulfur dioxide (SO2). Peligroso ang matapat dito, lalo na ang may ‘allergy’ na nagdudulot ng iritasyon sa mata, lalamunan at baga.

Tinitiyak ng Globe sa publiko na ang mga teknikal at support personnel nito ay nakahanda at mayroon ding nakaantabay na generators kung sakaling mawalan ng koryente at kailangang tuloy-tuloy ang komunikasyon.

Pinapayuhan ng Globe ang mga apektadong residente na manatili sa kanilang mga bahay, magtabi ng sapat na pagkain, mag-imbak din ng tubig, ihanda ang mga face mask at first aid kits, extra na baterya para sa flashlight at i-charge ang mga cellphones.

Samantala, tumutulong din ang Globe sa pamahalaang panlalawigan ng Batangas para ihanda ang mga evacuation center para sa mga kailangang ilikas.

Nagbigay ang Globe ng 1,000 na mga kumot, kobre kama, unan, tuwalya, dekuryenteng takure, lampara at iba pa bilang suporta sa ‘disaster preparedness program’ ng Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office at ng Department of Social Welfare and Development.

“It is our commitment to assist the local and national government especially during calamities and disasters. Whether through the provision of free calls, texts, charging, and internet connectivity, we are ready with relief assistance for our customers, and the affected communities,” ayon kay Yoly Crisanto, Globe SVP for Corporate Communications at Chief Sustainability Officer.

“Forming partnerships with the business sector and various industries is one of our priority programs to mobilize resources in preventing risk and reducing existing risk. We are amid a pandemic and the threat of another Taal Volcano eruption, so we should keep working together. Efforts from the private sector are most welcome,” sabi naman ni Lito Castro, Head ng Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office sa Batangas.
