/ 31 May 2021

THE Technical Education and Skills Development Authority opened two more assessment centers for Domestic Work NC II competency in the National Capital Region because of the increase in applications from outbound workers.

On May 26 and 28, TESDA Secretary Isidro Lapeña led the inauguration of the Domestic Work Assessment Center in Quezon City Lingkod Bayan Skills Development Center and the TESDA Manila Training and Assessment Center, respectively.

The QCLBSDC and TMTAC can each accommodate 20 applicants per day.

“The number of outbound OFWs seeking assistance continues to rise. We, at TESDA, understand that our service, the certification program, is among the most needed support of our kababayans who would like to work abroad in order to support their families,” Lapeña said.

There are now five TESDA assessment centers in NCR.

The other assessment centers in the region are the Navotas Training Institute, Women’s Center and Pasay-Makati District Training and Assessment Center both in Taguig City.

TESDA-NCR is also set to open another assessment center under the supervision of its district office and Training Center PaMaMariSan (Pasig, Mandaluyong, Marikina, San Juan) District.

Earlier, Lapeña encouraged all outbound OFWs in the provinces to undergo competency assessment in their nearest assessment center to avoid overcrowding in the NCR centers.
