SIBLING WAR: EX-PUP PROFESSOR EYES RAPS VS UNIVERSITY EXEC
A SIBLING war threatens to rock the Polytechnic University of the Philippines after a former professor threatened to file charges against the school’s incumbent vice president for Academic Affairs for his “unrighteous” dismissal from the university.
Domingo de Guzman, who taught in PUP for 30 years, said that his brother, former PUP President and now VPAA Emanuel De Guzman kicked him out from the university in 2014.
De Guzman said he was not given a reason for his dismissal.
He said that he tried to teach in PUP Sta. Rosa, Biñan, Sta. Mesa, Sta. Maria and Pulilan, but he was immediately axed when his brother found out.
The former professor added that he took his case before the Commission on Higher Education several times but he was not entertained.
De Guzman was first appointed by former President Dr. Nemesio Prudente as a professional lecturer in 1986. He served as the director of the Institute of Social History for eight years.
The POST sought a comment from the PUP and CHED but did not get any response.
