THE UNIVERSITY  of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines collaborated with the municipality of Claveria in Misamis Oriental to find ways to boost agriculture output in the area.

Local officials held a dialogue with university officials to identify problems and find solutions.

The round table discussions aimed to  strengthen agriculture and improve crop production.

“Farming is the main industry of Claveria and is the main source of vegetables, crops, coffee, bamboo and mushrooms in the region,” USTP said.

“USTP-Claveria is setting up the Agropolis Science and Technology Park, and an agriculture and food innovation hub,” it added.

Representatives from the Provincial Agriculturists Office of Misamis Oriental, Department of Agriculture and Department of Science and Technology joined the discussions.
