SEN. IMEE Marcos has filed a measure seeking the establishment of another national high school in Kapatangan, Lanao del Norte.

Marcos pushed Senate Bill 1868 that seeks the creation of the Kahayagan National High School after learning that the nearest high school in the barangay is three kilometers away.

She said it is the duty of the State to protect and promote the rights of all citizens to quality education at all levels and shall take appropriate steps to make education accessible to all.

“The students in the area still need to travel which is an additional expense to them especially to their parents who mostly are laborers,” Marcos said in her explanatory note.

The senator believes that the establishment of a national high school in barangay Kahayagan will help decongest other schools and will provide students better access to secondary education.

“This will give the youth in the locality an opportunity to an improved life through meaningful and accessible education,” Marcos said.
