MARIANO MARCOS STATE U DOLES OUT RELIEF PACKAGES TO FLOOD VICTIMS IN CAGAYAN
THE MARIANO Marcos State University handed out 1,200 relief packs and boxes of clothes to victims of recent flooding in the province of Cagayan.
The school gave away the donations to representatives of the Provincial Government of Cagayan, Local Government Unit of Aparri, and the Natarnaw nga Agtutubo’ student organization.
University President Shirley C. Agrupis led the donation event held Saturday.
“In response, the recipients expressed their gratitude to the university for its generosity, saying that the relief packages will benefit the communities affected by the typhoon and will bring hope and joy to the families,” MMSU said on its Facebook page.
“The donation will benefit 630 MMSU students and other communities which will be identified by the Resiliency Focal Persons in the said provinces,” it added.
Each relief pack contains kilos of rice, bottles of water, instant noodles, canned goods, salted fish, biscuits, and hygiene kits, MMSU said.
The money and in-kind donations used for the donation drive were through the joint efforts of the MMSU Faculty Association, Inc., Association of Non-Teaching Administrative Personnel, and University Student Council.
